Banksy:Barcode
Barcode, 2004
Screenprint on paper
Edition of 150, Signed
50 x 70 cm

Banksy’s 'Barcode', 2004, is one of the street artist’s most widely known images: it is a reflection and a social critique on today’s consumer society, and the way this society is recorded and catalogued through the use of barcodes.

In this screenprint, Banksy uses a barcode as a visual pun for a cage, from which a tiger has escaped, and is walking towards the viewer in a threatening way.
