‘Custardized Oil #3’ was painted in 2006, the year in which the phenomenon described as ‘Banksy Effect’ arose.
An oil on canvas, this work mocks the traditional painting style and subject of past portrait masters, juxtaposing a depiction of a formally attired man and a custard pie which appears to have been thrown at his face.

The custard is rendered in yellow, whereas the rest of the canvas emulates the effect of an antique print.
